All teaching staff are salary assessed upon commencement. Teaching qualifications and teaching experience together with industrial/vocational qualifications and experience are used to determine the commencing salary of a new teacher.

New staff generally commence employment at Level 1 of the position's classification (i.e. PACCT Level 4 would start at PACCT Level 4-1). The position classification can be found on the Position Description.
Progression through the levels to the top of the range is accessible following the completion of 12 months on that pay scale and with agreement from the relevant manager based on satisfactory performance.
