GTEC is a community. All its members work together to provide a unique and dynamic pathway for young men and women wanting to progress from school to the world of work.

The aspiration of our students is to become apprentices in a wide spectrum of trades, from building and construction to diesel mechanics or landscape design. Their goal is to be the best of their kind, to become independent, able to start their own business or contribute to their industry working for large companies.

A community is made up of partnerships. As part of The Gordon, GTEC is able to access extraordinary resources – extensive workshop and trade training facilities built up over generations and a vast team of trainers and programs able to deliver to industry standards.

Integral to GTEC’s success, and that of The Gordon, are the partnerships established with business and employers. Without the support of industry to engage our apprentices, the program could not bear fruit; without addressing the needs of employers, there would be no-one to drive their industry.

To support the apprenticeship program, we work closely with Group Training Organisations who are able to find work placements for our trainees, and who support and mentor apprentices throughout their training, working closely with the employer and everyone involved in the delivery of training and assessment.

Parents and families likewise contribute to this community through their support of our program and the reinforcement of the aspirations and work ethic that should drive success for their sons or daughters. To meet the challenges of the age, the demands of the program and reinforce guidance along the pathway, the co-operation of families is vital.
