Geelong Cemeteries Trust are holding a commemorative exhibition to mark the 175th Anniversary of Geelong Eastern Cemetery.
The Photographic Exhibition will showcase images taken by local camera clubs: Bellarine Camera Club, Geelong Camera Club and Corio Bay Camera Club in and around Geelong Cemeteries Trust administered cemeteries.
Winners in several designated categories will be announced by the Minister for Health, The Hon. David Davis on Tuesday 23 September, with the exhibition then open to the public from Wednesday 24 September until Friday 3 October.
The winning photographs will be considered by the judges to “best represent the emotive peaceful nature of a cemetery.” Consideration will also be given to clarity of detail, cultural or architectural diversity and aesthetics and composition.
The Gordon Gallery is open weekdays 10am – 4pm. Entry is free.
Entry via steps, corner of Fenwick St & Gordon Ave. (Ramp access is via Fenwick St courtyard, opposite Johnston Park)
