The Gordon Recognises Geelong

Page Content

Throughout 2012 The Gordon will continue its mission to make Geelong the most qualified city in the State.

We know there are many people in the region who have great skills but no formal qualification to prove it.

Although our three-day event (The Gordon recognises Geelong) is over, it's not too late to get your skills recognised and we maintain our public promise that:

'If you are skilled, working and unqualified we'll recognise what you can do and guarantee you a qualification or part-qualification at no cost!'

 Which one are you?

I'm an employer with skilled staff who deserve recognition.

The first step is to contact our Customer Service Centre. We can help you determine what staff are eligible and what areas or qualifications they can be accredited in. Once your staff are ready to undertake the recognition process, we can organise industry assessors to come to you - to see your staff in action on the job.

I'm an individual looking to do further study in 2012

Before you start your 2012 studies, we'd love to talk to you about your suitability for Skills Recognition, otherwise known as Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). It's a flexible and straightforward process which means:

  • Your existing skills and knowledge can be counted towards achieving your qualification

  • You only need to do units / modules which are new and challenging

  • Your course costs may be reduced

  • You can use your time more effectively

Simply enquire about Skills Recognition at the time of your enrolment or contact the Customer Service Centre to find out more.

I'm an individual who has great skills, but no qualification to prove it

You don't have to be undertaking further study in 2012 in order to get your current skills recognised. Many people are eligible for a full or part qualification based on their extensive skills, knowledge and experience.

Where do I start?

Your first step is to contact the Customer Service Centre Centre. Our expert team can help match your current skills and experience to one of over 200 industry qualifications.

From there - you're only a few steps away from a full or part qualification!
