Student Activities

Student Activities at The Gordon provides a range of either free or discounted trips, activities and services to all students across the City, East Geelong and Colac Campuses.

Our Services include:

• On campus equipment hire such as pool tables, table tennis, air hockey, basketball, football, cricket and soccer (equipment varies on each campus)
• Arcade Games are on offer at the City and East Geelong Campus
• Fax service, engraver, lost and found property, day and term locker hire, transport information, tourist maps and brochures and lots of other useful information
• Accommodation register
• Noticeboards dedicated to Job Offers, Rooms to rent and student second hand books for sale
• Student advocacy
• Internet Hub (East Campus only)
• Recycle point for mobile phones and accessories, printer cartridges and offer green tips in the Intouch newsletter

Student Activities work closely each year with the Student Representative Committee (SRC).  Elections are held in Term 1 each year, for more details contact Student Activities.

Campus Events

Make the most of your campus life and make sure you come along to campus events during the year. Student Activities host various student events at Gordon Campuses, including Orientation days in February and other themed events throughout the year such as multicultural day, community awareness events and free food giveaways. 

Student Activities notifies students about upcoming events via:

• Posters on student noticeboards
• Student Portal homepage and Student Activities tab
• Regular student emails
• Quarterly student newsletter, Intouch (available in hard copy, with an online version available on the Student Portal) – students are encouraged to submit articles or even movie reviews, please send all submissions to sao@gordontafe.edu.au
• Annual Recreation and Activities guide (available in hard copy, with an online version available on the Student Portal)

There are lots of great trips and tours to participate in during 2011.  All trips are discounted for students.

Some of the great trips organised for 2011 include:

• Swim with the Dolphins
• Great Ocean Road
• Melbourne Zoo
• Sovereign Hill
• Ski weekend to Mt Hotham
• Paintball

If you would like to participate in any of these trips, please email sao@gordontafe.edu.au or drop in to the Student Activities Office on your campus.  We recommend you book early as places are limited and fill up quickly.

Please note that presentation of a valid student ID is required to receive the discounted trip price.
