Looking for a beauty therapy course that gives you great skills and leads you to a great job?
For the third year in a row, The Gordon Diploma of Beauty Therapy has delivered a 100% success rate, with all graduates gaining employment or choosing a pathway to further study.
What makes this course so good, you ask? We recently caught up with RACV One Spa Manager Kirsty McAngus to find out what makes Gordon beauty students the best in the biz.
Why do students graduating from The Gordon make great employees for your business?
We know that students from The Gordon leave with a high standard of skills and we are confident they are fully equipped to come into the workplace. We’ve taken on quite a number of students over the last three years. Just under half of our employees are from The Gordon.
When you’re looking to hire staff, what qualities are you looking for?
Initially we look for how they are presented as a beauty therapist including mannerisms and demeanor. But really it comes down to their level of skill. When we see applicants with The Gordon as their place of study, we are always happy to interview them.
How has The Gordon helped your business?
The success of our business comes down to the staff that have been employed. The Gordon provides us with exceptional up-and-coming therapists, and for us that means good therapists and ultimately loyal clients.
“I wish I had saved time and done it earlier”
Megan Carey studied and worked in education before pursuing her career in beauty. She completed her diploma at The Gordon TAFE in 2016 and has just joined that team at RACV One Spa.
Why was The Gordon your preferred place to study?
I heard The Gordon had a great reputation. The TAFE diploma was the quickest way to get a real job as it only took 12 months – not three years like university.
What did you enjoy the most about your beauty therapy course?
The teachers are so experienced and very supportive. They have heaps of knowledge in the industry and can help you choose what you want to do in the future. The course has 30 units, which meant I got vast experience in the beauty therapy industry. I found find it exciting, as each day you’re leaning something new.
How has The Gordon prepared you for your career?
Essentially, I have been given real skills that I can use and put into place at work. Every part of the course provides hands-on experience and I got to practice on real people before heading out into the workforce.
See yourself in a beauty career?
