    Floristry

Floristry is a wonderful career for individuals with an artistic flair. It provides a dynamic work environment, where creativity, customer service and team work play an important part in the floral studios success. Our Floristry graduates walk away with on-the-job experience, practical skills, industry contacts, and an ability to secure jobs in a competitive market.

Our floristry program is innovative in its delivery and our students benefit from ‘action learning’, where they use the skills learnt in the classroom and utilise these skills to become industry ready.

Delivered on-campus or within the work environment, the Floristry department can accommodate the needs of the individual, employers and other stakeholders.

Students gain an unrivalled grounding and understanding of retail skills, as well as experience and benefits from the partnerships we have with local businesses. Students gain confidence and personal development skills whilst completing the course; ensuring they are employable and job ready.

There is the opportunity to study retail on campus in our Certificate II or Diploma programs which run twice year or through one of our traineeship programs..

    Visual Merchandising

A brand new course for The Gordon and the only one of its kind in Geelong, Visual Merchandising invites students to use their imagination and is now a ‘strategic art’. Products, environment, space, colour and a range of senses are used to create engaging displays which support retail, exhibitions, theatre, and events.

The program can be studied part time for those already employed, while business owners and managers can opt for customised workshops tailored to address the needs of their business. Our industry trained teachers deliver hands-on techniques and delve into the psychology and motivations of customer behaviour.
