Profiles and Testimonials

“I really enjoyed my time at The Gordon. I had great teachers, the chance to meet people in the industry, hone my skills, expand my knowledge and build a portfolio. I personally loved all the competitions they run. They gave me the opportunity to experience a different side of hairdressing, and build my confidence in the process.

I definitely feel as though studying at The Gordon has pointed me in the right direction as to where I want to take my career. I absolutely love the fashion side of hairdressing whether it be runways, platform work, photographic or commercial. The Gordon has given me all the tools now I just have to put it into practice.”

"I choose to start my career in the hairdressing industry because I always had a passion for styling hair. I absolutely loved the thought of meeting new people and connecting with them because we share the same passion.

I started off as an after-school employee, then started my apprenticeship as soon as I was old enough. Attending trade school allowed me to have the flexibility in learning new skills, giving me extra confidence within the workplace. I find learning is most beneficial when you are completing hands-on work because you can see the results and learn from your mistakes.

In 2015 I travelled to London and completed a two-day long hair workshop. I gained a lot of skills and found it rewarding to come back and share what I had learnt with my colleagues. In the future I plan to travel overseas and gain more skills and experience, to implement back in Australia."
