WorldSkills medal haul

Over three days, more than 500 young people competed in WorldSkills, a kind of Olympic Games for trade skills. To be able to enter the national competition, each competitor had to first win at a regional level in 2015 and gold medallists at a national level will unite as Skillaroos to represent Australia at the international competition in Abu Dhabi in 2017.

The Gordon was represented by six incredibly talented students, four of which came home with medals.

Gold Medallists

Hannah Terry & Luke Scott (The Gordon Institute of TAFE) – MECHATRONICS

Silver Medallist

Jordan Andrews (The Gordon Institute of TAFE) – HAIRDRESSING

Bronze Medallist

Tom Neave (The Gordon Institute of TAFE) - JOINERY
The students and their teachers worked tirelessly to prepare for the national competition and their grit and determination have paid off.

We wish our Gold Medallists Hannah and Luke, who now have the chance to compete as Skillroos in Abu Dhabi, the best of luck!
