Working in disability is a challenging and rewarding career. That’s why a brand new course has been designed to give you a taste of working in the industry.
Course in Introduction to the National Disability Insurance Scheme provides an introduction to working in the disability workforce. It was created due to demand – because right now, the need for quality disability workers is at an all-time high.

You will learn how to support NDIS participants in everyday life, helping them achieve their goals towards greater independence. You will also increase your knowledge of the sector, learning about industry processes and required documentation.

The course covers:

  • Setting the scene – the NDIS context in Victoria 
  • Supporting an NDIS participant
  • Human rights approach to violence, abuse and neglect
  • NDIS participant personal safety
  • Working safely when supporting an NDIS participant
  • Completing and processing documentation
  • Working collaboratively
  • Being a direct support worker
  • Working directly with an NDIS participant

Eligibility exemptions

Eligibility exemptions will be available for students to study this course as well as the NDIS related qualifications we offer:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support
  • Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistant
  • Certificate III in Community Services
  • Certificate IV in Disability
  • Certificate IV in Mental Health

This means participating in 22469VIC Course in Introduction to the National Disability Insurance Scheme will not otherwise impact your entitlement to funded training and will not be taken into account when assessing eligibility for any further government subsidised training.

Government funding is available for this course for eligible students. 
Standard* or Full Fee Tuition: $95.00 (Hourly rate $2.37 and Indicative Course Hours 40) 
Concession* Tuition: $19.00 (Hourly rate $0.47 and Indicative Course Hours 40) 
(*Indicative Government Subsidy total is $340)
