Are you looking for a rewarding career working with young children? This entry-level course will equip you with the foundation skills and knowledge you need to become a qualified assistant within this sector. You will learn about effective interaction and communication with children, appropriate care for babies, toddlers and children, nutrition, first aid, safety, and working legally and ethically. 

This is a FREE TAFE COURSE. Click here for eligibility criteria.

Work placement/industry experience

Through our established network, you will also complete two industry placements which are organised by The Gordon:

  • First placement: four days per week over four weeks | Monday - Thursday
  • Second placement: four days per week over five weeks | Monday - Thursday

You will be required to obtain a current and approved Working with Children Check to meet workplace regulatory requirements.
