Our highly regarded fashion design course equips you with the skills, knowledge and design abilities to work in all areas of the fashion industry. With our strong industry connections and a high graduate employment rate, this course is what you’ll need to start your career. You will develop skills across core disciplines in patternmaking, fibres and fabrics, illustration, range development, garment construction and quality assurance. Learn about the complementary and integrated roles of design, patternmaking, construction and associated technologies. Investigate, develop and apply skills related to current and future directions of the fashion industry. Enhance your skills in design, marketing, and global operations to work within the fast-paced fashion world from designers through to manufacturers and also develop your own fashion range - showcased at our annual industry parade.

Work placement/industry experience

Throughout the course, you’ll be exposed to industry networking opportunities through a range of projects and events. A practical placement component is incorporated in the second and third year. In your final year, you’ll also complete a major internship at a fashion enterprise, to reinforce your industry skills and career opportunities.

You also have the opportunity to participate in our international study tour to cities such as Paris, London, Barcelona and Hong Kong.
