Do you have a taste for travel and tourism? Love people and planning? Then this course will help you gain a strong working knowledge and understanding of all sectors of the tourism industry that include tourism and travel industry structure, travel product information, tourism destinations, tour guiding, customer service and communication, interpreting financial information, business relationships and networking and OHS.

As part of the course students will participate in a weeks tour around the major tourist regions of Victoria including:

  • Ballarat, Great Western and the Grampians
  • Warrnambool and the Great Ocean Road
  • Ferry to Sorrento
  • Phillip Island via the Mornington Peninsula

During the tour you will meet and work in close partnership with the local tourism industry where you will gain a strong understanding of all sectors of the industry.

Work placement/industry experience

You will have the opportunity to network with tourism industry professionals. Industry visits and field trips are organised for you to experience first-hand from experts in a range of business settings.

There are many volunteering roles to choose from during your studies to improve your skills and build valuable networks.
