Course description
Want to extend your skills and employment opportunities as a worker in the care sector? This course provides the skills and knowledge you need to assist clients with their medications. You will learn how to prepare and provide medication assistance and how to accurately complete medication documentation.
When you successfully complete this course, you will achieve a nationally recognised unit; HLTHPS006 Assist clients with medication. Employees who hold this unit are highly sought after by the care industry.
The course is delivered face to face at The Gordon and also involves some workplace assessment, so you will need the support of your supervisor.

- Scope of your responsibility
- Types of medications
- Supporting clients with their medication
- Medication contingencies
- Completing medication documentation
Prerequisites
- Applicants must be currently working in, and must hold a qualification relevant to, the Aged Care/Community Services/Disability Support sector.
- Applicants will need the support of their supervisor to undertake this course and complete the workplace assessment requirements.
