Entry requirements

  • Attending a secondary school
  • Literacy and numeracy level equivalent to the successful completion of Year 9

You will learn

  • Automotive repair and maintenance including; basic vehicle servicing, tyre refitting, electrical systems testing, replacement of front suspension, brakes and radiators
  • Understand the various systems and components of vehicles
  • Develop a strong foundation in automotive technology for a career in the field
  • Safely use tools and equipment in a workshop setting

Course outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program you will receive:

  • Recognition of up to two VCE VET units at Units 1 and 2 level, and a VCE VET Units 3 and 4 sequence
  • ATAR contribution: if you receive a VCE VET Units 3 and 4 sequence you may be eligible for an increment towards your ATAR
  • Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation
