Course description

This course will provide you with the core knowledge and skills needed to increase your employment opportunities and future educational options in the graphics industry. Teachers with professional experience will teach you various drawing skills and the Adobe suite of products, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, and Premiere Pro.
 
You will study design, how to produce manual and digital illustrations, page layout and typography, digital photography, video editing, and how to apply colour to visual work throughout the course.
 
Students must complete up to ten hours per week of self-paced study and evaluation exercises outside class. This will differ according to the student's level of knowledge and expertise.

  • Applicants are expected to have literacy and numeracy skills at Year 10 or Year 11 or Australian Core Skills Framework Level 2.

  • You must reside in Victoria to access Victorian Government Subsidised Fees and any incentive such as Free TAFE. Full fees apply to all non-Victorian residents.

Pre-training review

Each student must complete a pre-training review as part of their application. The outcome of your pre-training review assists our teachers and trainers to better understand your capabilities prior to training and enables you to be matched to the right program. If you have previously completed any of the units of competency relevant to this course, you may be eligible for Credit Transfer (CT).
