Profiles and Testimonials

My love of the outdoors and passion for the environment made this course the right choice for me. I realised that the things I loved doing as a hobby is what I should focus on as a career.

The elements I benefitted from the most were the practical, hands-on learning opportunities that TAFE provided. We would discuss concepts, methods and techniques in the classroom, then we would go out on field trips to see real-life scenarios. This really helped to strengthen my understanding and expand my knowledge of the wide range of skills required in the industry.

In addition to studying I participated in as many different volunteering opportunities I could find,  and I believe it has accelerated my career. I now work full-time in a natural resource management role. I’m surrounded by inspiring people who love the natural environment as much as I do and I learn something new every day!”

“The Gordon is more hands-on than other training providers. They focus on learning, experiences and skills that will help you get a job quickly. The teachers are excited by the course and outcomes, and have helped to broaden my horizons.

I am never bored or annoyed in the classroom and there’s a good mix of students that I learn from. We also benefit from regular field days and hands-on experience outside the classroom. The teachers have also given me a lot of confidence and support with my study, as I was an electrician and not used to classrooms or study.

Any stereotypes people have out there about TAFE being something you do if you don’t make the cut for university, simply isn’t true. The teaching is high quality, the teachers are engaging, supportive and flexible, and it’s a good mix between theory and practical skills.”
