Profiles and Testimonials

“I travelled overseas for the first time in 2015, backpacking around Europe followed by a snow trip in New Zealand. These experiences really opened my eyes to the world, and I knew I wanted to pursue a career in tourism, particularly in guiding.

The Gordon appealed to me the most as they offered hands-on experience. The training focussed on real life skills and we travelled to different tourist destinations on a weekly basis including the Great Ocean Road, Melbourne, Geelong and Bellarine Peninsula, as well as a study tour to New Zealand.

The Gordon’s connections within the tourism industry are exceptional and had a positive impact, growing my understanding of current and relevant work practices. The teachers not only share their endless knowledge, but have helped boost my confidence and prepare me for a great future in the industry.”

“Studying travel at The Gordon allowed me to combine my passion for working with the public and my love of travel, and it has turned out to be the perfect job for me.

The Gordon's educators were motivated, encouraging and honest. They believed in our abilities and were always there to lend a hand where needed. One of the course highlights was an excursion to Tullamarine Airport, where we were taken behind the scenes by Royal Brunei representatives.

I'm currently working for Helloworld Ocean Grove.  My job as a Travel Consultant involves turning peoples travel dreams into a reality.  In this role, you need passion for what you do, motivation and drive, along with good interpersonal skills, excellent research skills and attention to detail. Being a Travel Consultant is not a glamorous job as so many believe it to be.  It is hard work and mentally exhausting, but very rewarding in so many ways.”
