Interior Design

Are you a creative person with an eye for design, and could see yourself working as an interior designer or decorator?

Our interior design courses give you the skills and knowledge to design and document interiors for residential and commercial buildings. These courses are very hands-on with lots of site visits, project work and industry networking opportunities.

The Certificate IV forms the first year of the diploma course, so you can choose to complete one or two qualifications depending on your career goals. Upon completion of the diploma, you’ll also meet the minimum industry requirements to work as an interior designer decorator (consultant).

Student story

Picture of Catherine Pyers, an Interior Design student

"I work as a sole trader in the areas of project management and exhibition design with a view to extend my business into domestic interior design. I love this industry and have been obsessed with design ever since I helped my dad build a mud-brick studio out the back of my childhood home when I was ten years old. I like the way things that are made well are put together and the sense of calm and clarity good design invokes in me. My career in the arts and cultural sectors over the past 18 years has afforded me many fantastic opportunities to work alongside some truly inspirational artists and designers, and although I began working in the field of project management, I quickly realised my true passion was in design."
