Application & Fees

Applying to GTEC has an online component and an informal interview process that allows us to determine if the program is right for you. Prospective Year 11 and 12 students must be aged between 16 and 19, and have completed Year 10 (preferably) in order to undertake VCAL Intermediate (Year 11), or have completed Year 11 to undertake VCAL Senior (Year 12). Year 11 and 12 midyear students will join existing groups while Year 10 students will join the Headstart program and enter year 11 the following year.

Courses commence in February and July and study is full-time. Work experience in the student’s chosen field is recommended prior to commencement of the GTEC program. Students have to complete the Construction Induction Course (CIC or White Card) prior to commencing, call 1300 974 523 for more information.

Step 1 – Application Process

You can apply for a place at GTEC via the Gordon website, by calling p: 5246 6350 or by clicking here and selecting the appropriate course.

Step 2 - Interview process

Shortly after submitting an application you will be contacted and offered an appointment time for an interview with a member of the team. The interview will be held at GTEC, P Building, East Campus of the Gordon and should take about 45 minutes.

While there are some students who like the support of their parents, the interview is about you and we prefer to see how you handle yourself through the process. If parents want to join you at the end, they are always welcome and free to ask any questions they might have.
