The Gordon Institute of TAFE is so humbled to be taking away an incredible THREE awards from the Victorian International Education Awards (VIEAs):
- Premier's Award for Victorian International Education Provider of the Year
- Excellence in International Education - TAFE
- Excellence in International Student Experience
The Gordon was recognised for always putting the best interests of the student first and for its incredible achievement of 100 years of International Education.
Keeping International students connected to the institute, to the community and to each other is an integral part of the regional study experience at The Gordon. We focus on providing practical support in a safe and supportive environment.
The Gordon’s International Team fosters a strong sense of community from the first point of contact with students. This continues throughout their studies by having close contact with their program areas, being alerted to issues as they arise, and intervening early.
During the pandemic this included individual phone calls to our international student community in Victoria to understand and support students through any challenges they were experiencing and providing food, employment and financial support to international students based on individual circumstances.
Based in the regional city of Geelong allows teachers and staff to directly link students with local employers, giving them valuable experience in their industry while also connecting them to the local community.
There has never been a better time to study in Geelong! Close to the Great Ocean Road, Geelong is an affordable, student-friendly city with a strong sense of community and easy public transport links to Melbourne.
