From 11.59pm on Friday 24 June, Pandemic Orders requiring two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine for the higher education sector were removed, with responsibility for vaccine requirements shifting to individual employers.


Vaccine requirements for students, trainees and apprentices
Students, trainees and apprentices who are attending workplaces on site for practical placements – for example in health, aged care or building (site specific) – should follow the vaccination requirements relating to their job or workplace. There will be some workplaces which will continue to require their workforce to be vaccinated to attend on site work.

Face masks
Face masks are strongly encouraged on campus to help prevent the transmission of COVID-19, flu and cold. If there is a positive COVID case in the class environment, face masks must be worn by all who attended for the next seven days.

Who do I need to contact at The Gordon if I’ve tested positive?
Email rsw@gordontafe.edu.au as soon as possible and ensure that you include your full name and Student ID number in the body of the email. Follow current Government guidelines and isolate for seven days. 

What do I need to do if I'm a close contact?
Close contacts no longer need to isolate which means you can attend campus. However, you will be required to wear a face mask indoors. If you choose not to isolate, you will need to undertake at least five rapid tests, which must be negative over the seven days that would previously have been the self-quarantine period. This is a government directive.

For further information on current restrictions, visit coronavirus.vic.gov.au. It is the single destination for all Victorian COVID-19 information and resources, including information about higher education, TAFE and training providers, apprentices and trainees, and health and wellbeing.
 
How will The Gordon store my personal medical and background check data?
Students in courses that require the submission of personal medical (e.g. immunisation history and vaccination records) and background check (Police and/or Working With Children Check) data for placement purposes will have their documentation stored in a secure document management system within The Gordon. This private information will only be accessible by required Gordon employees to facilitate placement coordination and booking. Documentation or confirmation of the citing of documentation, will be provided to placement host organisations, as required by the placement hosts policies and procedures.
 
Students are required to complete an Information Release Consent Form prior to documentation or confirmation of the citation of documentation being provided to placement host organisations. Failure to complete this form and/or to provide the required documentation prior to placement, may result in cancellation of placement by the placement host organisation, with additional placement re-booking fees charged by The Gordon to arrange a new placement to meet course requirements. On completion of placements within your course, your medical and background check data will be deleted by The Gordon.
