Delivered by the Deakin University School of Education, this program was designed to build teacher capability in the teaching of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics related subjects in secondary schools. The program ran over 3 successful years from 2015 to 2017.

The STEM Education Conferences held in 2016 and 2018 were a major highlight. Leading STEM educators from universities in Britain and the USA provided delegates with deep insights into the challenges inherent in improving STEM teaching capability in schools. Several STEM program partner schools showcased their STEM teaching practices with delegates via school tours on the final day of the conference. The impetus generated by the STEM Education Conferences has embedded the aspiration of educators for the Geelong region to become a ‘lighthouse’ for STEM education in Victoria and beyond.
