The Whittington Works initiative is a social inclusion program delivering education, training and employment to the long-term unemployed residents of Geelong’s eastern suburbs. The program addresses areas of regional need by linking industries experiencing skills and/or labour shortages with vulnerable or disadvantaged residents keen to re-enter the job market. The program is delivered by the Whittington Works Alliance and builds on an Education to Employment (E2E) model of service delivery
It is founded on a partnership approach to linking jobseekers to jobs by providing local education and training opportunities in a supported environment.

A total of 157 people have enrolled in the programs, with 72% graduating
The rate of successful training transitions-to-employment is 46%
