Celebrancy

As a celebrant, you’re invited to become a part of a community of family and friends during a special time in people's lives. Whether the celebration is a wedding, a naming ceremony, a civil ceremony or a funeral, being a celebrant is an honour.

You are responsible for the legal marriage requirements. So if you can see yourself as a professional business person, creative presenter and writer, and an effective and sensitive communicator, a career as a celebrant could be for you.

We have introduced a range of short celebrancy courses for those looking to rejuvenate their celebrancy career. We know you enjoy networking and take pride in your professionalism. Through this continued learning opportunity, you will train with your industry colleagues and be introduced to new skills while improving your confidence.

Student and teacher stories

"I love the whole sentiment behind the practise of celebrancy. You are with people at pivotal moments of their life and it's a real privilege.

The celebrant course at The Gordon 100 percent sets you up to succeed in your future ventures. Not only does it provide you with the knowledge of all the legal requirements of celebrancy, it gives you fantastic resources, it explores the nuts and bolts of setting up a small business, and there is even a personal care plan as part of the assessment requirements. You don't just leave with a qualification, you leave with the confidence that you can start in your chosen field tomorrow.

The Gordon gives a fantastic mix of face to face workshops, Zoom calls, incredibly accessible teachers and you are supported throughout the whole experience. The very best part about this course is that you are able to create a network of mentors and fellow future celebrants. It's an intense workload and you never feel like you're doing it alone."
