Important update for Geelong City Campus: Disability Centre of Excellence construction

The Gordon is building Victoria’s first Disability Centre of Excellence (DCOE) to make TAFE more accessible and inclusive for everyone. During construction, some classrooms and services will move to temporary locations which have been updated below. There may also be changes to how you get around campus. These disruptions are essential steps towards making a more accessible and inclusive campus. Look for updated maps, signage, and digital notices to help you get around and check your timetable regularly. If you need support or have questions, please contact Customer Service. Bookshop

The Gordon Bookshop, located in the Library at the East Geelong Campus (Building H) sells textbooks, stationary and equipment for your course. 

You can order your bookshop items online.

Cafes / Kitchen facilities

  • East Geelong campus: Cafeteria and microwave (Building A)
  • Werribee Watton St and Werribee Princes St: Kitchen facilities, including microwave
  • Geelong City Campus: In 2026, the main cafeteria will be closed in 2026 during renovations for the Disability Centre of Excellence. During this time there will be
    • pop-up cafe outside the Library (Buildings H, level 1) serving sandwiches, quick meals and cold drinks
    • pop-up cafe outside the Bakery (Building T, level 1) serving hot snacks and cold drinks
    • a coffee cart outside the Auditorium (Building H level 1)
    • a student lounge in H1.19 (behind Customer Service) with microwave, kitchen facilities and vending machines  
    • The Social Cafe and Davidson restaurant will remain open

Catering and function spaces are also available.

  • Laptops: available to loan during library hours from the library

Geelong City Campus

  • Desktop PCs: Library, computer lab A2.14 (from February 2026)
  • Laptops: available to loan during library hours from the library

Werribee Princes and Watton Campuses

  • Laptops available to loan during opening hours. Please ask Customer Service.

Libraries

Geelong City and Geelong East campuses libraries offer welcoming spaces where you can study, eat and relax and can access computers with course-related software, equipment (laptops, cameras, tripods, and video cameras) and print and photocopy facilities. 

The library (campus and online) is essential throughout your studies, offering tailored resource guides with books, eBooks, video streaming and journals for your course. Library staff are able to offer support with research skills and referencing and using technology or programs. with support available via chat, phone email or in person.

Lockers 

A range of lockers are available on campus. Please check with teaching staff for use of department lockers. You will need to provide your own lock or use the electronic locks (where provided).

All lockers must be emptied and locks removed at the end of each term. Any items remaining in lockers after this time will be removed.

Please note that The Gordon does not take any responsibility for theft or damage to items stored inside lockers.

Multifunction devices are available at all campuses for students to use for printing, copying and scanning.

Prayer rooms

Non-denominational prayer spaces can be made available for use by all students and staff at The Gordon. Please contact Customer Service for more information.

Queer spaces

Both the Geelong City and East campus libraries have dedicated queer spaces, offering a quiet retreat for LGBTQI+ students and allies, with books, resources and room to relax.

Quiet rooms

Quiet rooms provide students with spaces to withdraw, regulate or simply relax. With a collection of relaxation and sensory items, the rooms offer a space to energise or calm your body for optimal learning, focus and interactions with others. The rooms can be accessed by more than one person at a time and no bookings are required. Quiet rooms are located at:

  • Geelong City Campus, Library
  • East Geelong Campus, A building, near the Student Services area
Skills and Jobs Centre

Skills and Jobs Centre

Skills and Jobs Centre offers free career, employment and training support services for all students and members of the community.  Note: From February 2026, the Geelong City Campus Skills and Jobs Centre will be located in Building A, Level 1).

Box of donated food items

Student Community Pantry

The Gordon's Student Community Pantry is regularly restocked with groceries and staples. Items are available for FREE to all students. The current locations are:

  • Geelong City – Building H, between Customer Service and the Computer Labs
  • East Geelong – Room A1.17, at the Sensory Space next to the Cafeteria
  • Watton St and Princes Hwy pantries will also be available shortly. In the meanwhile, students at these campuses can contact Customer Service or email the Student Wellbeing team.   
The Studio Hair and Beauty

Studio - Hair and Beauty Salon

The Studio Hair and Beauty Salon, located at the Geelong City Campus provides customers with the latest styles and treatments without the expensive overheads of commercial salons.  The salon is run by students and apprentices who are supervised by industry teachers, allowing our future hairdressers and beauty therapists to put their skills into practice in our fully equipped premises.
