About the exhibition
Discovering the Impressionists it is the most ambitious exhibition ever presented in regional Australia. It will include more than 70 French Impressionist paintings, including seven by Monet. It tells the story of art dealer Paul Durand-Ruel who believed in the Impressionists when nobody else would, and his persistence changed art history and established a whole new business model for the contemporary art market which predominates today.
