View the finished vision for the Centre of Excellence for Disability Inclusion

UPDATE 19 March, 2026

What's been happening this week?

  • Following feedback, additional signage has been installed, including more visible toilet amenity signs.
  • Noise from demolition works has ramped up this week, as entire staircases are brought down behind hoarding lines. Please expect general noise around the G & H Building construction zones.
  • You may notice an increase in construction workers moving through hallways as they move between work zones.
  • Over the coming week, a small section of the public area in Customer Service will be temporarily closed off to allow for the relocation of the Fire Indicator Panel.

The Finished Vision

We appreciate everyone’s patience as works continue. While some disruption is unavoidable, each step brings us closer to the end result, and that result is something special: Victoria’s first Centre of Excellence in Disability Inclusion across the TAFE sector, right here at The Gordon.

Discover what the completed Centre will offer by visiting our new page: CoE – The Finished Vision.

About the Centre of Excellence

The Gordon is building Victoria’s first Centre of Excellence in Disability Inclusion to make TAFE more accessible and inclusive for everyone. Construction will run through 2026–27, and while there will be some significant but essential changes on campus, all services will remain available. If you need support or have questions, please contact Customer Service. Once complete, the COE will deliver a more accessible and inclusive campus experience, including:

  • Step and ramp-free navigation through the campus.
  • Clear, simple, icon-based signage supplemented by text and braille.
  • Cafe and dining zones with clear circulation, flexible seating, and wheelchair-accessible tables.
  • Warm, welcoming colours and materials and acoustic treatments (sound‑absorbing panels, floors, and ceilings) to help reduce sensory overwhelm.
