Entry requirements

  • Attending a secondary school.
  • Have evidence of a permanent cognitive and/or intellectual disability.
  • Be able to participate in supported learning activities within a school environment.
  • Review the personal learning requirements essential to this course and discuss with your school VET Coordinator before you apply.

Course outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, you will receive:

  • A Statement of Attainment for the partial completion of Certificate I in Transition Education 

Course materials

  • All learners are to provide Pencil, Pens, Highlighters, Rubbers, Ruler. 
  • If required learners can provide:
  • Scribing support and guided responses 
  • Adaptive writing tools and devices (e.g. pencil grips, modified keyboards) 
  • Sensory supports (e.g. headphones, fidget tools, quiet learning spaces) 

Assessment is based on

  • Questioning
  • Observations and practical demonstrations
  • Portfolio (work samples)
  • Product (reports, projects, role plays etc)
