There are plenty of accommodation options for international students, including on-campus, off-campus and homestay.

The Gordon International team can help you find somewhere to live and assist you to find temporary accommodation for you when you first arrive.


On-campus accommodation

The Gordon Student Residence is a friendly and welcoming place to live and a great way to make new Australian and International friends. It is located at the East Geelong Campus, which is only a 10 minute bus ride from the Geelong City Campus.
 
 You and three other students will share an apartment with fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and laundry amenities. Communal living areas are situated centrally on each floor with couches, dining and TV facilities. You will need to supply your own towels and linen.
 
On-campus accommodation includes:

  • Your own private room with bed, desk and wardrobe
  • Electricity, gas and water bills
  • Wi-Fi internet

Homestay

Homestay is arranged by a private organisation who specialises in matching host families with host students. Homestay is a great chance for you to work on your language skills while also having an authentic Australian cultural experience.
 
Homestay rent for a private room usually includes:

  • Your own bedroom with bed, desk, wardrobe
  • 3 meals per day (breakfast, self-serve lunch and cooked dinner)
  • Electricity, gas and water bills
  • Wi-Fi internet

Private accommodation

If you would like to live off-campus then we can help you with information on where to search for a vacant room and your rights and responsibilities when renting.
  
Private rentals require you to sign a lease with a real estate agent or directly with a landlord. Some places will be furnished but it is more common to rent an unfurnished apartment (also known as a unit or flat) or house.   

You may rent a private room in a share house where all housemates share the cost of common utilities like electricity, gas and water. If you would prefer not to share with others, you can choose to rent a private apartment, unit or house.

The Gordon Student Residence has the option of short-term accommodation while you search for private accommodation, contact Student Residence for more information about price and availability.
