VCE, VCE VM and VPC

Complete secondary school your way

Looking for an alternative way to complete your senior secondary studies?

At The Gordon’s Senior College, you’ll study in a welcoming learning environment where you’re known, supported and valued.

Choose from VCE, VCE Vocational Major (VM) or Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC), depending on your goals and where you want to go next.

An alternative approach

For many students, mainstream school may not provide the learning environment that best supports their success.

Whether you’re preparing for Year 11 or 12, looking for a fresh start or returning to study, we offer three flexible pathways to suit different needs and circumstances.

Our approach puts you first, with support and encouragement to learn in a way that works for you.

No bells, no uniforms. Only attend when you have class.

Whether your goal is university, TAFE, an apprenticeship or work, we help you build the confidence and skills to get there.

Support that helps you reach your goals

We know every student learns differently.

Our teachers take the time to get to know you and support your learning in a small school environment where relationships matter.

You'll also be part of a tertiary education environment that helps for a smooth transition into further study, training or work, with clear pathways and guidance for your next stage.

Students may enter in Year 11 or Year 12, or as an adult returning to study. A part-time study option is available in Year 12.

VCE Vocational Major (VM)

VCE VM is suited to students who prefer learning by doing and want job-ready skills.

A practical, hands-on senior secondary pathway focused on real-world learning, work experience and applied learning. Combining classroom-based learning with practical experience, VCE VM prepares students who want to pursue apprenticeships, traineeships, TAFE study or employment after Year 12.

VCE VM can also support future university pathways following further training or work.

Students may enter in Year 11 or Year 12.

Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC)

Suited to students aged 15 – 17 who are looking to develop practical skills, improve literacy and numeracy and explore future options in an accessible and supportive environment.

Focusing on personal development, work-related skills and vocational tasters, VPC helps students discover their learning and career interests.

VPC builds confidence, independence and practical skills through supported, self-paced learning. This pathway can lead into further study, training or employment, including progression into VCE or VCE VM.
