Student story

Image of Alec McLachlan, VCE student

“I left school after year 10 to become a heavy vehicle diesel mechanic. About a year after my apprenticeship, working as a qualified mechanic, I started feeling mediocre about my career.

I felt VCE for mature-aged students at The Gordon was the perfect place to start to change my career. The teachers at The Gordon were great, full of encouragement and always checking in to make sure everything is flowing smoothly. To anyone considering returning to study I'd say go for it, you will never know your capabilities until you push yourself.”

Alec McLachlan, VCE
