SCNAW01861 HSR Refresher OHS Training Course - Aggression or Violence

Pre-Requisites and additional attendance information

You must be over 18 years old to attend. Participants should have previously completed a WorkSafe approved HSR initial course. 

Delivery and Assessment

This refresher training will revisit key concepts from the HSR initial course and explores AV as a workplace health and safety hazard:

• refresh their understanding of HSR powers, functions, entitlements and consultation requirements
• review key OHS concepts including designated work groups (DWGs), reasonably practicable and risk management
• explore AV hazards and their impact on workplace health and safety
• apply the risk management process to identify, assess and control AV risks
• examine employer and employee responsibilities for managing AV hazards
• understand the importance of consultation, reporting and incident management
• strengthen their ability to represent their DWG and contribute to safer workplace outcomes

Under section 67 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Vic), elected HSRs and Deputy HSRs who have completed an approved HSR initial course are entitled, for each year they hold office, to attend an approved HSR refresher course of their choosing, in consultation with their employer. In addition, HSRs and Deputy HSRs are entitled to attend approved refresher training on paid time, with employers required to pay the associated course costs. The Gordon is approved to deliver three WorkSafe-approved HSR refresher training courses. 

What you will receive

Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
