This WorkSafe Victoria approved training course will help HSRs to understand and exercise their powers effectively. Mental health is a state of wellbeing that allows people to realise their potential while coping with the ordinary challenges of life. The training will provide HSRs with the confidence, skills and knowledge to represent their designated work group when raising health and safety concerns in relation to psychological health.
Although HSRs are the primary audience, this course may also be suitable for managers, supervisors, health and safety committee members and others looking to broaden their knowledge of psychosocial hazards in the workplace.
This refresher training will revisit the key concepts from the HSR initial course and is primarily focused on psychological health and psychological hazard management:
Under the OHS Act 2004 (section 67) all elected HSRs and deputy HSRs after completing an initial course of training, have an entitlement (for each year they hold office) to attend refresher training and choose the course in consultation with their employer. The Gordon is approved to deliver three HSR refresher training courses.
Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
