Pathways to university

There are a number of reasons why you might choose The Gordon as your pathway to university. You can gain credit points for prior learning at Deakin, Federation and Victoria Universities. This takes time off the duration of your bachelor course. Not only can this save you money, it also means you’ll have the skills to work in your preferred industry whilst studying at university.
Why choose a pathway course?

Deakin University offers Gordon students entry and credit towards a number of bachelor degrees. Towards the end of your Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualification at The Gordon, you can apply for entry at Deakin University. Deakin will assess you for Credit for Prior Learning which can mean a reduced number of units and time to complete your degree.
Along with our arrangements with Deakin, Federation and Victoria Universities, students may be able to apply for credit for prior learning with other universities and TAFEs.
While The Gordon has developed partnerships and formal arrangements, it is important to note that all pathways, including formal guaranteed entry and/or Credit for Prior Learning, are at the discretion of the individual university. Each applicant must meet the university’s own admission criteria. Refer to the university’s website for more information.

We’ve had students go on to complete degrees in a range of fields at many universities.

Student Story

"From a young age I knew I wanted to pursue a creative career in graphic design. I gained more knowledge than I thought was possible at The Gordon but knew there was more to uncover.
I always liked the idea of being part of Melbourne’s design culture, and my Gordon diploma allowed me to go straight into second year at Monash.

I’m also working for The Cotton On Group as a Graphic Design Intern. Working while studying is great preparation for my future design career. I'm gaining relevant industry experience and constantly developing my skills."
