VCE at The Gordon

Are you a young person looking to complete senior secondary school in an alternative setting, or would you like to return to study as a mature-aged student? You have options!

Depending on how you like to learn you can join us in Years 10, 11 or 12 and complete secondary school with VCE or a Vocational Major.

Victorian Pathways Certificate

  • Suited to 15-17-year-old learners.
  • Personal development skills and tasters to allow students to discover their learning interests.
  • Pathway to VCE or VCE Vocational Major.

VCE

If you are self-motivated and willing to take responsibility for your learning, our VCE courses could be the answer.

  • VCE is a two-year course, and you can join us in Year 11 or Year 12 to complete your VCE, scored (ATAR) or unscored.
  • If you are 18 years and have been out of secondary education for at least one year, you can complete VCE in one year.

VCE Vocational Major

  • VCE Vocational Major can be started in Year 11 or Year 12.
  • Designed for hands-on learners looking to enter an apprenticeship, traineeship, a TAFE course, or directly into the workforce.
  • VETDSS Subjects and School-Based Apprenticeship form part of the course structure and must be applied for separately.

Gavin Wake, Principal of The Gordon’s Senior College

Every student learns differently, and the key is to find an environment where they feel supported and engaged. Education isn’t one-size-fits-all, and the right choice is where they feel they can thrive.
