Course description
The Class 2 Restricted Licensing Assessment is a mandatory component of the licensing requirements when applying to Energy Safe Victoria for the “restricted electrical workers Licence” (REL) and must candidates achieve a result of 75% or better to be eligible.
Assessment requirements:
All candidates must present to the assessment with their own hand tools and equipment and must wear the appropriate clothing, including safety shoes or boots, during the assessment.
All candidates are required to supply their own Insulation Resistance and Continuity Tester (IRCT) for this assessment and must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a true moving coil instrument
- Must be an analogue meter
- No pass/fail indication
- Minimum of 2 continuity scales 3(Ohm)/500(Ohm)
- Minimum of 2 voltage 500v / 1000v
Prerequisite:
To be eligible to sit the Class 2 Restricted Licensing Assessment candidates must have successfully completed the 2 units of the appropriate Disconnect/Reconnect course.
- UEENEEE101A - Apply Occupational Heath safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace.
And one of the following units:
- UEENEEP012A – Disconnect/Reconnect composite Appliances connected to Low voltage installation wiring.
- UEENEEP014A - Disconnect/Reconnect Water Heaters connected to Low voltage installation wiring.
- UEENEEP015A - Disconnect/Reconnect Motors connected to Low voltage installation wiring.
All eligible candidates must present to the assessment with photo ID and proof of enrolment.
You must be over 18 years old to attend.

To make an application for a restricted electrical works Licence Electrical Workers Licence, candidates must apply directly to Energy Safe Victoria with all relevant documents and fees. Check the website for details
