National Reconciliation Week at The Gordon

The Gordon celebrates National Reconciliation Week 2026 with All In for Reconciliation, a special event to bring staff, students and community together to reflect, learn and take meaningful action.

Held on Wednesday 27 May, 1–2 pm at The Gordon Gallery, Geelong City Campus, the event will begin with an Acknowledgement of Country, followed by the launch of The Gordon’s Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan.  Staff and students are also invited to experience the First Peoples Culinary School showcase and take part in a First Peoples Education Office opening.

All In for National Reconciliation Week 2026

The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is All In, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day. All In makes clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport and that all of us must step away from the sidelines and take action to make change.

The theme also reminds us that reconciliation and advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights isn’t a passive activity, and it is not solely the responsibility of First Nations people, who have carried the weight of championing, explaining and acting for far too long.

Reconciliation will not happen by itself, and it will not happen without all of us.

About National Reconciliation Week

National Reconciliation Week, held annually from 27 May to 3 June is a significant week celebrated each year at The Gordon. It's a chance for students and staff to come together and learn about our cultures, achievements and shared history on the journey of Reconciliation. The week commemorates two significant milestones including the successful 1967 referendum and the High Court Mabo decision.
