Course Overview
This 12-hour program, licensed by Mental Health First Aid Australia, equips adults with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to recognise, understand and respond to a friend, family member, co-worker, or another adult, experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis. The course is delivered by a MHFA Licensed Trainer and Gordon Teacher.
- Date / Time: Wednesday 17 & Thursday 18 December from 9am to 4pm each day (including breaks)
- Bring: Pen, water bottle, optional snacks (tea & coffee provided)
- Pre-course work: None required

- Mental illnesses: risk factors, prevalence, impact
- MHFA Action Plan
- Depression: signs, symptoms, interventions
- Anxiety: first aid and crisis response
- Psychosis: signs, symptoms, interventions
Day Two
- Substance use problems: signs, symptoms, interventions
- Crisis first aid for severe effects and aggressive behaviour
- Practical application of MHFA Action Plans
