Entry requirements

  • Attending a secondary school
  • Applicants are required to be aged 15 years and over
  • Literacy and numeracy level equivalent to the successful completion of Year 9
  • Review the personal learning requirements essential to this course and discuss with your school VET Coordinator before you apply.

You will learn

  • Skills in using basic plumbing tools, power tools, and levelling equipment, as well as working with sheet metal
  • How to use pipes, fittings, and fixtures for plumbing installations, as well as cutting and penetrating building materials
  • Learn to measure accurately and understand plumbing plans
  • Apply safe work practices and develop effective communication skills
  • Develop technical drawing skills

Course outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, you will receive:

  • Recognition of up to two VCE VET units at Units 1 and 2 level, and a VCE VET Units 3 and 4 sequence.
  • ATAR contribution: Students who receive a VCE VET Units 3 and 4 sequence for VCE VET Plumbing qualification will be eligible for an increment towards their ATAR (10% of the lowest study score of the primary four studies).
  • A Statement of Attainment for the partial completion of Certificate II in Plumbing (Pre-apprenticeship).
