22701VIC VDSS - Certificate II in Plumbing (Pre-apprenticeship)

Entry requirements

• Attending a secondary school.
• Applicants are required to be aged 15 years and over.
• Literacy and numeracy level equivalent to the successful completion of Year 9.
• Review the personal learning requirements essential to this course and discuss with your school VET Coordinator before you apply.

You will learn

• Work safely and effectively in plumbing and construction environments.
• Use plumbing hand tools, power tools and levelling equipment to complete practical tasks.
• Read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications and measurements.
• Fabricate basic plumbing pipe systems and apply sheet metal techniques.
• Develop foundational trade skills including teamwork, communication, calculations and basic welding processes.

Course outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, you will receive:

• Recognition of up to two VCE VET units at Units 1 and 2 level, and a VCE VET Units 3 and 4 sequence.
• ATAR contribution: Students who receive a VCE VET Units 3 and 4 sequence for VCE VET Plumbing qualification will be eligible for an increment towards their ATAR (10% of the lowest study score of the primary four studies).
• A Statement of Attainment for the partial completion of Certificate II in Plumbing (Pre-apprenticeship).

Dress code and course materials

• A computer with online capabilities (at home only)
• Pen / pencil / eraser 
• PPE – Steel capped work boots, appropriate work wear for plumbing (work rated long pants)
