She/Her
I am an AuDHDer and a mother of two neurodiverse children. My lived experience personally, as well as being a caregiver has led me towards being passionate about how we can make learning more accessible for all. You can often find me crocheting, knitting, gaming, tinkering with computers or listening to/watching metal bands.
I am currently studying a Certificate IV in Cybersecurity at The Gordon after being out of the workforce for a number of years caring for my children. I hold a Certificate III in Information Technology that I also completed at The Gordon.
I am passionate about advocacy and contributing to changes that future generations can benefit from.
I joined the co-creator team to provide my lived experience as an AuDHDer studying at TAFE, as a parent carer of neurodivergent children and to help shape the way TAFE operates in the future to be beneficial for every student, those who identify as being disabled and those who do not.
Our co-creator team is diverse with such valuable experiences to share and the way our lived experience is handled and considered has been validating and it feels like our opinions matter. It is true co-creation instead of a tick box approach and this has resulted in truly engaging and valuable conversation in every meeting. My fellow co-creators are insightful, engaging and this has led to developing some great friendships
I would like to see the Centre of Excellence in Disability Inclusion set the standard for all of Victoria's TAFE sector and for the projects findings to be implemented. Because if we create a TAFE sector that is equitable for our most vulnerable students, we create a system that is beneficial for everyone.
