Pronouns:

She/Her

Introduction/About me:

I am a Geelong girl, born and bred. I love all kinds of music, being outdoors in nature, and everything architecture. I have two adult children and a dog named Rosie. I am Neurodivergent (AuDHD, PTSD) and am on a quest to live authentically after years of masking and feeling like a complete alien. I am achieving this through learning how I can better accommodate my brilliant brain, surrounding myself with wonderful people, and focusing my energy around my special interests.

Qualification, Skills, Strengths, Talent:

I am currently completing the Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural) here at The Gordon, and recently received the Design Excellence and Student of the Year awards. I am a creative problem solver who is hard working, super strong and always colourful. I can also (kind of) string a tune together.

What are you passionate about?

Advocating for people who struggle to do so for themselves and having a positive impact on the built environment in my community.

Why did you join the co-creator team?

Studying has been incredibly challenging for me and I wanted to assist in making the journey more accessible, inclusive and enjoyable for all TAFE students living with a disability. I saw becoming part of the co-creation team as an amazing opportunity to do this while supporting my own studies in the architectural space and hopefully opening myself up to a positive professional experience.

What do you enjoy about being a Co-Creator for the COEDI?

The fact that I can 100% be myself. To be able to be open with my struggles and feel validated in doing so is such an uplifting experience. I feel as though my difficulties were not without purpose now and it fills me with so much pride to be working on this project. I also feel incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to work with amazing architects, and gain real insight into an industry which I’m so excited to become part of.

What would you like the COEDI to achieve?

To change the experience students living with a disability have in the TAFE environment so that they feel excited, understood and equal in their learning experience.
