There’s no question, 2020 has been unique. The uncertainty generated has left us with more questions than answers. And none more so than for those completing their secondary schooling and looking to move onto tertiary study in 2021. 

Will I get the ATAR score I need to pursue my dream career? If not, what are my options?

Let’s just get one thing straight, there are no wrong turns! There are only choices. And The Gordon TAFE has a range of choices for those needing to pathway to uni. 
 

Didn’t get the ATAR you needed?

You don’t need an ATAR to study at The Gordon. And even better, we have pathway agreements with Deakin University and Vic University. So you can begin your studies with The Gordon and later transfer to your course of choice at uni. 

Starting your studies at The Gordon can also save you thousand in uni fees. And with a TAFE qualification, you’re a step ahead of your uni counterparts. You could work in your industry while completing your uni course!


Don’t know what you want to do?

No worries. The Gordon offers a large range of short courses, allowing you to discover your true passion ahead of committing to long term study.

After completing courses in the areas of make-up, screen and media, multi-disciplinary design and interior design, Bec was accepted to study a Bachelor of Design (Architecture) at Deakin University.
 

JobTrainer and Free TAFE

Studying with The Gordon in 2021 can open doors to new careers with double the opportunity to receive government-funded places through Free TAFE and the new JobTrainer initiative.

To learn more and find out if you are eligible, click here. JobTrainer is expected to continue until December 2021, and Free TAFE until December 2022, so it’s important to consider which initiative you should enrol under and when.
 

Virtual Information Sessions

With our local industries rebounding from COVID-19, The Gordon has courses in sectors that are calling out for trained staff. This includes Aged Care, Early Childhood and Education, Cookery, Construction and much, much more. By taking the first step and gaining hands-on training that will give you the skills to succeed in the real world, and at uni, you can be job-ready for positions in these high demand areas.
