Toss the coin at the Geelong V St Kilda game on 20 July at GMHBA Stadium. Be part of the player guard of honour and receive an exclusive dining experience for you and a mate! 

By participating in this competition, you agree to the following terms and conditions: 

Competition details

  1. The promoter of this competition is The Gordon, 2 Fenwick Street, Street, Geelong VIC 3220, TAFE 3044, ABN 27 241 053 246. 
  2. The competition opens at 9am on Tuesday 24 June and the competition closes at 12pm on Tuesday 8 July 2025.
  3. Entries received after the closing time and date will be deemed ineligible.  
  4. The winners will be announced on Friday 11 July 2025.  

Entries

  1. Entry is open to all alumni of The Gordon – anyone who has studied and completed a course at the Gordon at any time in the TAFE’s 138-year history. 
  2. To enter this competition, you must complete the online entry form and agree for your details to be added to our Alumni database. Under no circumstances will The Grodon share any entrants’ personal information with any third parties, partners or affiliates.  
  3. By entering this competition, you warrant to The Gordon that you are eligible to enter this competition based on these terms and conditions. 
  4. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms and conditions you should not enter the competition or accept any prize resulting from entry into the competition. 
  5. Employees of The Gordon are eligible for this competition if they are an alumni of The Gordon.  
  6. Employees of The Gordon’s Marketing and Commercial Departments and those directly involved with this competition are ineligible to enter.  
  7. Current students are eligible to enter this competition if they have previously completed a course at The Gordon.  
  8. Current students who are yet to complete a course are ineligible.  
  9. The Gordon reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions. Failure by The Gordon to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. 
  10. The use of false names (being names by which the entrant is not usually known) or false addresses will result in disqualification. 
  11. There is no limit on the number of times you can enter this competition.  
  12. Entrants must be aged 18 years or older to enter this competition.
  13. Incomplete, indecipherable or illegible entries will be deemed invalid.  

Prizes

  1. One alumni entrant will be selected as the major prize winner by a review group from The Gordon between 8 and 11 July 2025 and notified by email or phone.  
  2. An additional five (5) entrants will be selected to receive a runner-up prize by entry review and will be notified by email or phone. 
  3. The Gordon reserves the right to request that winners provide proof of identity and proof of study to claim their prize. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the promoter.  
  4. The main prize winner will receive two tickets to the Cats V St Kilda game on Sunday, 20 July for themselves and one other person. The winner will toss the coin on the oval at the start of the game, dine in the President's Function at one of Gordon’s tables with their guest and also form part of the player guard of honour. This prize is valued at $1,200
  5. Each of the five runner-up winners will receive two general admission tickets to the Cats V St Kilda game on Sunday, 20 July for themselves and one other person. They will also form part of the player guard of honour at the start of the game. This prize is valued at $70 each, and a total value of $350.
  6. All winners must be present in the nominated area to take part in the ‘on ground’ activities. 
  7. Each winner must be present on game day to claim their prize. The Gordon retains the discretion to substitute the main prize should the winning entrant not present to claim their prize.  
  8. This prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash and cannot be assigned to another person. 
  9. Unless otherwise stated, all costs incurred by a winner to accept or use the prize are the responsibility of the winner. 

Prize selection

  1. The prize selection will take place at The Gordon’s office at 2 Fenwick Street, Geelong, between Tuesday 8 July and Friday 11 July 2025 by a panel.
  2. The method of drawing will be selected based on the quality of narratives supplied by the entrant. Six winners will be selected. Each entrant will have an equal chance of being selected. If the entry is in-complete, it will be deemed ineligible.  
  3. The panel’s selections will be the winners. This decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 
  4. If the entry has not completed a course at The Gordon, it will be deemed ineligible. 
  5. The winners will be notified by phone and email. 
  6. The prize will be provided on Sunday, 20 July 2025.  
  7. The winners will be published online at gordontafe.edu.au and on The Gordon’s Facebook page on Friday 11 July 2025.
  8. The prize(s) will be deemed unclaimed if The Gordon, despite using reasonable efforts, is not able to deliver the prize to the winner in accordance with conditions 30 and 32. 
  9. If this competition is interfered with in any way, or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated, due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of The Gordon (including  vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike or inclement weather), The Gordon reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law: 
    1. to disqualify any entrant or 
  10. to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the competition, as appropriate. 

Disclaimer

The Gordon (including its employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity) whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the competition, including but not limited to, the following: 

  1. Any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under The Gordon’s control) 
  2. Any theft, unauthorised access or third-party interference 
  3. Any entry, prize or claim for a prize that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether before or after receipt by The Gordon) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of The Gordon 
  4. Any variation in prize value from that stated in these terms and conditions 
  5. Any tax liability (including FBT) incurred by an entrant or winner or use of the prize.

  1. Privacy notice: The Gordon collects the personal information in your entry for the purpose of conducting this competition and communicating about alumni opportunities. This information is collected and handled in accordance with The Gordon’s Information Privacy Policy which is also available at campus Customer Service Centres.
