We are celebrating the success of our high-achieving students who have been honoured with Premier's VCE Awards for excellence in vocational education.
Callum McNeill received a Premier's VCE Award for Information and Communications Technology (VCE VET), while Frankie Martino was recognised for his outstanding achievement in Laboratory Skills (VCE VET). Their success places them among Victoria's highest-performing VCE VET students.
The Premier's VCE Awards recognise exceptional academic achievement and are presented to only a small number of students each year. In 2025, just 322 students received an award from more than 92,000 students who completed at least one VCE examination across Victoria.
Callum, who completed Year 12 last year at Kardinia International College, was recognised for academic excellence in Information Technology through The Gordon's VET Delivered to School Students program.
Since graduating, Callum has begun pursuing his dream of becoming a commercial pilot and recently celebrated a significant milestone by completing his first solo flight.
Callum said receiving the award was a great honour and reflected the support he received throughout his secondary school journey.
The opportunities and guidance I received through The Gordon helped me gain confidence in the direction I wanted to take after school. The Future Pathways team played a big role in helping me explore career options, and I was fortunate to connect with one of The Gordon's alumni who is now a Qantas pilot. Their advice helped me choose the flight school I'm now attending and gave me valuable insight into the industry.
Frankie, a student at Bellarine Secondary College, achieved an outstanding study score of 46 in Laboratory Skills (VCE VET), placing him second in Victoria and reinforcing The Gordon's reputation as a leading provider of the program.
Laboratory Skills teacher Janine Dean praised Frankie's dedication and commitment.
Frankie's success is a testament to his consistent effort and commitment in the laboratory.
His hard work, commitment and determination have made this Premier's Award a thoroughly deserved achievement.
The achievements of Callum and Frankie reinforce The Gordon's reputation as a leading provider of vocational education for secondary school students and highlight the quality of learning experiences available through its VET Delivered to School Students program.
